Year 8 Legacy project - Kaharoa School

Student led mural design;

This mural was created as a legacy project for Kaharoa School by year 8 students, and was led by their prefect team. My role was to assist them with their concepts and help them put a design together. This was an evolving process as we adapted some of the design, and also allowed all the Year 8 students to be involved, to have a student voice and do a piece of writing that embodied the culture of the school and their senior classes.

The students learnt some blending techniques for texture and tonal effects and gained a lot of confidence in their ability to both draw and paint as well as use these techniques.

Resene sponsored this mural as part of their mural masterpieces competition. Speedy signs supplied the vinyl graphics created from the students writing.
